Finally, it is out in the open, Rani Mukerji is now Mrs Rani Chopra. The actress made an official announcement that she tied the knot with film-maker Aditya Chopra in a quiet ceremony in Italy, thus ending years of speculation about their relationship status. The couple had been dating for several years.
While Yash Raj Films released a statement saying, “We are happy to announce that Mr Aditya Chopra and Ms Rani Mukerji got married last night on April 21 in Italy. The wedding was a small, intimate affair with very close family and friends. We wish the couple a very happy married life,” Rani Mukerji’s statement read, “I would like to share the happiest day of my life with all my fans all over the world whose love and blessings have been part of my journey all these years. I know that all my well-wishers who have waited for this day will be really happy for me. It was a beautiful wedding in the Italian countryside with just a few of our close family and friends with us. I have always believed in fairytales and with God’s grace my life has been exactly like one, and now as I enter the most important chapter of my life— the fairytale continues.”

Teacher bonding

Shahid Kapoor, whose brother Ishaan Khattar enrolled as a student at Shiamak Davar’s dance institute last year (the same place where Kapoor polished his dance moves) was on cloud nine when he saw his younger brother walking away with several accolades at an event held in the city last fortnight. The event was organised to give away awards to those who had completed the one-year program and Kapoor’s joy knew no bounds when Khattar was awarded the Best Student trophy at the do. After the formal award ceremony, Davar even called the actor on stage and said, “Look! This is one student of whom I am really proud of. He will always be my lovely baccha.” Kapoor was also given a special award on this occasion and was almost in tears when he hugged Davar on stage.

Fan moments

Deepika Padukone surely knows how to keep her fans happy. The actress, who is known for her fan base on social media platforms, invited some of them at an event held in Mumbai last fortnight. While one girl travelled all the way from Jodhpur, another youngster came from Chennai and they were delighted to know that their stay was organised by Padukone’s team. The group of five fans were also seen clicking selfies with the actress backstage and also got a chance to get their creations autographed, when they interacted with her in the hotel room. Must say, lucky fans after all!
