Newcomer Sidharth Gupta had director Aman Sachdeva in a tizzy while shooting a car sequence for Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi
By Geety Sahgal
According to debutant director Aman Sachdev, lead actor Sidharth Gupta was a case of perfect casting in Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi.
In the film, Kuku is shown as a loser who does not possess any skills, and when the unit started shooting with Sidharth they realised that he too was unskilled in many aspects. Citing an interesting experience while shooting, Sachdev says, “There was a scene in the film which required Sidharth to drive and that’s when we realised that he didn’t know driving, putting us all in a tizzy. To shoot the scene and to show him driving convincingly we had to have two people in the front pulling the car with ropes, and there were three behind to drag the car with ropes towards the camera when required. In fact, Sidharth couldn’t even apply the brakes properly, and at one time the assistant sitting next to him hit his head because he braked suddenly,” said the ad-film-maker-turned director.
The cast of KMKJHG includes newcomers like Aashish Ahuja, Neha Ahuja and Simran Kaur Mundi and the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Bejoy Nambiar. It releases on May 30 2014.
